She was a Nurse and Social Worker. During World War II she helped and saved more than 2,500 Jewish boys and girls by risking her own life. After the creation of the Warsaw Ghetto, he obtained a pass from the Epidemiological Control department and thus was able to access daily to bring food and medicine Faced with the threat of a typhus epidemic, the Nazis were permissive with people who entered the ghetto to try to stop the illness. In this way she managed to get many boys and girls out of the ghetto in unimaginable ways. She got fake IDs and wrote down her real identities and locations that she kept in a bottle in her neighbor's garden.<\/p><p>On October 20, 1943, she was arrested by the Gestapo and locked up in Pawiak prison. Neither the torture nor the months that she was in prison broke Irena's silence.
