Healthy Relationships and Prevention of Dating Violence, on June 19 we participated in an activity organized by AMIA Joven at the University of Palermo, which is part of a cycle of 3 meetings where the theme of gender violence will be developed.<\/p><p>On this occasion we saw the film \\\"Don't kill me\\\" based on the shocking and tremendously moving true story of gender violence experienced by Corina Fern\u00e1ndez and her two daughters. Then we shared an exchange table and witnessed her courage, strength and integrity. She almost died from the extreme violence of her ex-husband. One day, he waited for her outside her daughters' school and shot her 3 times. She had made 80 complaints. She survived. Corina today tells her story to raise awareness and also helps women who, like her, go through an arduous path in the search for solutions.<\/p><p>During the talk we talked about the deficiencies of the State to protect the victims, the continuous harassment that they must tolerate in the face of the indifference of the judicial and police system, the limited scope of the approach restrictions and the lack of control over the abuser. The women's experience is that the system makes demands on the victims and expects them to respond obediently.<\/p><p>Incomprehensibly, it is the victims who watch over their protection, they live alert in case \u201che\u201d appears to them, and if they arrive\u2026they press the anti-panic button, and wait for someone to come to help them.<\/p><p>The system does not hesitate to be demanding with women victims of violence, on the other hand, it allows all doubts in front of the abuser when it comes to indicating treatment, periodic evaluations and sanctions for non-compliance. The judicial system continues to think lukewarmly how far to go with electronic anklets. Who benefits from this coldness?
